How to Make the Most Out of Your Blog Commenting

By: Alexander Fawn

If you want to get targeted visitors to your website or blog you need to understand the various methods of getting more exposure both from the search engines and other methods. Obviously when we talk about the search engines we aren't just talking about ensuring that you have properly optimized your website for Google et al, we're also talking about building as many relevant backlinks as you can. While there are lots of different ways to gain backlinks to your website, blog commenting is still one of the strongest methods available to you. Of course, one of the problems that you are going to face when you take on blog commenting is choosing the right blogs and having your comments approved. Keep reading to learn which steps you should take to ensure that it gets the job done.

Limit to One Comment Per Day, Per Blog: It is important to remember, especially when you start out in blog commenting, is that you need to limit yourself to one comment for each blog you target every day. It's important not to get too comment-happy when you start out even when you believe that your comments are useful to the author. It's important to do this because you don't want the owner of the blog to mistake you for a spammer who is just trying to get attention. Of course, if you are having a real conversation with the owner of the blog or another reader then it is absolutely normal to leave more than one comment.

Search for DoFollow Blogs: The primary reason you're spending your time commenting is because you're trying to build relevant backlinks. So if you want to have the SEO advantage with your blog commenting then you should try and look for DoFollow blogs that are ready to accept your comments. You'll have to spend some time searching for the DoFollow blogs for your comments but this is time that is well spent because the search engines will actually count the backlinks from these sites.

Search for Blogs Known for Approving Comments: There are blogs out there that are well known for owners who won't approve a comment no matter how well you write it and that is why you need to look for the blogs that have owners who are well known for approving comments that are well written. You can find out if they actually approve comments by looking through the other comments on the blog to see how long ago they were left. There is no doubt that you are going to have to look through quite a few blogs before you find one that is good and eventually your hard work will pay off because of the success you will achieve. There is a lot that you will have to learn when you begin to leave intelligent comments on other blogs because while this gives you the advantage of gaining targeted exposure for your own projects, it also helps you see how the other bloggers in your niche are creating content and allows them to interact with them through your own comments section. Once you begin to apply these basic commenting tips, you will realize that lots of opportunities are just waiting for you to take advantage of them.
